...born to the union of JosephAllen, Sr and Sarah SALLY Kendrick Reaves, Joseph was one of their five children who grew up near Lauderdale in Lauderdale County Alabama....unknown for certainty if he was previously married, but definitely thought to have been because of his age. Joseph married Samantha Caldonia DONIA Johnson and together they raised a family of 13 children...all but three lived to adulthood and marriage...Joseph was a Farmer and loved the Lord and His Word....he also travelled as a Church of Christ "Circuit Preacher" filling in at various congregations near his home who did not have a regular Minister...when Texas joined the American Civil War on March 2, 1861 he soon enlisted serving in the Second Infantry from Texas in Company E....Joseph Allen Reaves, Jr was my paternal Great Great Grandfather...Spouse: Samantha Caldonia "Donia" Johnson (1853-1931), married January 18th, 1871, at Milam, Sabine County, Texas Father: Joseph Allen Reaves, Sr. (1803-1864) Mother: Sarah Sally Kendrick (1803-1880) Occupation: minister/preacher for churches of Christ.
