Bio
Zona was mother to a single child Joyce Joan Nichols Watson -- grandmother to Geary Wayne Watson, Stephen Roger Watson, and Melanie Kay Watson Sweatman -- great-grandmother to Jason Derrick Watson, Adam Creed, Rebecca Jane Watson Johnson, and Joy & Josh Sweatman -- great-great-grandmother to Kaitlin Creed, April, and Gracie & William Johnson. She was married first to Marvin C. Nichols, Navy seaman and heavy equipment foreman from Granbury, TX, and last to Burl Brown, a farmer from Ennis, TX. She led an active life, from a long career at the Woolworths to farmer's wife and mother to Smokey & Niggy, her constant doggy companions. She had many stories from her exciting life, and we never tired of hearing them while sitting at her knee. "Mamaw" was our babysitter, scotch-rue maker, busted-knee kisser, and confidant. We all miss her quirky sense of humor (which she passed on to many of us) and her work ethic. We know she is entertaining St. Peter with some story right now, and he's slapping his knee with laughter.
