BORN PA, A son of Peter Basquin--Cynthia Pike; he wed Mary Tidd on 30 Aug 1838. his family came to Ohio where he bought some land to farm in Thompson (Geauga); they later moved to Ashtabula County. CIVIL WAR---Oliver Basquin Enlisted as a Private on 6 December 1861 at the age of 42 in Company K, 6th Cavalry Regiment Ohio. Received a disability discharge from Company K, 6th Cavalry Regiment Ohio on 16 Dec 1862.
