Andrew M. Benes, 78, Lincoln, died on Monday, 13 Oct, 1997. He was born in Valparaiso, Nebraska, and was a retired farmer, and member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, King's Men, a County Committeeman, ASCS for 25 years, President of Rural Fire District, in Hallam for 12 years. Survivors: wife, Lucille; sons, Donald, Dale Benes, both Lincoln; daughters, Sharon Benes, Lincoln, JoAnn Hermance, Belgrade, Mont.; brothers, Stanley Benes, Bee, Ivan Benes, Raymond Benes, both Valparaiso, Edwin Benes, Lawrence Benes, both Lincoln; sister, Lillian Potter, Valparaiso; eight grandchildren; two great- granddaughters; nieces; nephews. Preceded in death by parents, Edward and Anna (Kralik) Benes; daughter, Betty Jo Gaspers. Mass at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Father David Hintz, at Calvary Cemetery.
