Ruth Ann Sukup passed away on August 12, 2021 in Georgetown Texas with family by her side. Born May 21, 1921 in Houston Texas, she had just celebrated her 100th birthday! You will never meet a more gracious, caring, thoughtful, and independent southern lady! She moved to Georgetown in 1980 from Houston Texas. Her husband, Pete Peters, and Ruth enjoyed their retirement. They traveled, danced a little, and had the neighbors over for the occasional 4:30 pm happy hour. They were married for over 40 years. They had amazing neighbors, found great friendships at St, Helens Catholic Church where she was a member of the ladies club for over 30 years. Her husband passed away on March 9, 1985. Two years later, when she was 67, she asked if she should pick up golf or tennis, we suggested golf. She was a member of Georgetown Country Club for 12 years. In 1990 she met Pete Sukup, and they started dating. He was an amazing man! One of the funniest people she had ever met. He was a true blessing to the family. They were married a few years later, and they were a great couple. Traveling, dancing and showing us younger folks how to have fun. She was very lucky to have found 2 men that loved her so much. When Pete (Peter Paul) passed away it was really hard on her. She was however, able to live on her own until she was 95 years old, when she moved into an assisted living facility in Georgetown. The staff grew to love her right away. Whenever they would help her in any way, she would always thank them and make them feel special. She (Mamasita) was survived by 2 sons, 2 daughters-in-law, 1 grandson and wife, 1 granddaughter and husband, 3 granddaughters, and 1 great-granddaughter. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 from 5-7 pm with the rosary beginning at 6 pm at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel. The funeral mass will take place the following day, Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at 2 pm at St. Helen Catholic Church, with the burial to follow at IOOF Cemetery.
