While a young man named Walsh , whose parents live at Twenty-sixth and Union streets, was engaged in painting the house. No. 830 Twenty-second street, he jumped off the last round of the ladder and run a nail up his left foot. Although suffering considerable he finished his contract. His foot appeared to improve some, but yesterday it suddenly turned for the worse and he was taken to the Receiving Hospital for treatment. When a TIMES reporter called, he was suffering very severely, and was unable to move his jaw which was partly open. He thought that he had the lockjaw. Doctor Woolsey was called at later hours. Cornelius Walsh , who lived at 1266 26th street, and was attacked with the lockjaw while on the street and was taken to the Receiving Hospital, died yesterday afternoon. This case the TIMES gave considerable length in yesterday's issue. Walsh, aged 26 years, 9 months and 16 days. ☞ Funeral will take place from residence, 1266 Twenty-sixth street, Sunday at 2 p. m. Friends and acquaintances are respectively invited to attend. ∼ Note: DOB calculated from age of death shown on his death certificate: 25 years, 9 months and 14 days.
