Son of Cornelius Walsh and Margaret Bataman ∼ The Morning Times (Oakland, Cal.), Thursday, 18 September 1890, Page 8, Newspapers.com DEATH OF AN AERONAUT. Young Man Who Was Well-Known In This City. Richard J. Walsh died yesterday at the residence of his mother, 1266 Twenty-sixth street. The deceased was well-known in this city. Some years ago he renounced a clerkship in a fruit store to become an aeronaut, and made numerous ascensions in this city and throughout the State. He was always nervous in a balloon, and it is believed this was the cause of developing dropsy of the heart, from which death resulted. Some years ago Walsh married a Miss Porter of West Oakland, by whom he had one child. ∼ The San Francisco Examiner, Friday, 19 September 1890, Page 7, Newspapers.com WALSH —In Oakland, September 17, Richard J.
