Lincoln Journal Star | Posted: Wednesday, April 18, 2012 Darlene Ann Baker, 75, of Lincoln, went to visit her VBF "Our Lord" on April 16, 2012. She was born on September 28, 1936 in Cedar Rapids, Neb. to Steven J. and Evelyn A. (Homan) Kopecky. Darlene was married to Lieutenant Robert Fessel on October 20, 1955. He died on February 8, 1957. She married Lee (Bud) Baker on November 1, 1961. Her constant companion for 31 years was Dean M. Zellers, who died on August 3, 2003. Darlene worked as a bookkeeper, daycare provider, hostess and caterer for daVinci's restaurant for 11 years. Darlene was a member of Saint John the Apostle Parish, Red Hat Society, water aerobics, My Turn, Women's Welcome Club of Lincoln and several coffee groups. Darlene is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Steven J. and Cathy Fessel, of Carlsbad, Calif.; Gary W. and Jody Queen, of Burlington, Colo.; Lawrence W. Baker, of Lincoln; daughter and son-in-law, Leanna L. and Joe Millard, of Lincoln; six grandchildren, Jeffery, Loren, Nolan Queen, Ryan Fessel, Shaylene, Jarnell Michaels; brothers, Peter J. and Linda Kopecky, of North Platte; Ken K. Kopecky and Mary, of Oceanside, Calif. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Friday, April 20, 2012 at Saint John the Apostle Parish located at 7601 Vine Street, Lincoln with Rev. Lyle Johnson celebrant. Arrangements by Wadlow Rozanek Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Lincoln.
