Bio
Mary Miller, a resident of the Exeter Community for the past forty-nine years, passed away suddenly at her home in Exeter Friday, January 6, 1950, after being bedfast for more than a year. Se attained the age of 83 years and 18 days. Mary Catherine Richart was born Dec. 15, 1866, at St. Kilian, Wis. She moved with her parents as a small child to York, Neb., where she grew to womanhood. It was there she was united in marriage to Frank Miller April 19, 1887. They oved to their new home in Friend, Neb., where they resided only a short time before returning to York, where they made their home until 1901, when they moved to the farm they purchased near Exeter, and which is still known as the Miler home place. November 11, 1919, she and her husband retired from the farm, moving to their home in Exeter, where she resided until her death. Her husband preceded her in death December 20, 1927. Also preceding her in death were her parents and an only brother, John Richart. She leaves to cherish her memory five daughters, Anna Bennett of Alvo, Neb., Olive Wilger of Lamr, Col., Clara Hoffman OF Pierce, Neb., Tillie Gephart of Medford, Ore., and Mary Becker of Exeter, four sons, Joe of Geneva, and Frank V., John and William , all of Exeter, thirteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren one sister-in-law, Mrs. Lizzie Richart of Elgin, Neb., four half-sisters, Josephine Mack and Victoria Cordes of Grand Island, Kate Wright and Frances Heck of Norfolk, four half-brother, George and Roman Mack of Grand Island and Urban and Henry Mack of Park Rapids, Minn., other relatives and a host of friends.
