Jim L. Wilkinson, 78, longtime resident of Caldwell, died Tuesday, May 4, 2010, at home of natural causes. Jim was born Oct. 21, 1931 at home, the second son of Lela and Dee Wilkinson. Jim grew up in the Burley area until 1941; at the age of 10 the family moved to Nampa and finally settled in Caldwell. Jim attended Caldwell High School, and met and married his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Helen Bodenhamer in 1950. Jim was a hard worker; he spent 53 years as a residential contractor working with his son Mike before retiring in 1995. He loved fishing, hunting and camping; he also loved to spend time in the kitchen canning and cooking. He loved to cook and always made the Thanksgiving turkey. Jim was always smiling and interested in other people, especially his family; they were his whole life. Jim and Helen enjoyed 59 years of marriage. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Sheri, son-in-law Ken Whitworth and sister-in-law Betty Eddy. Jim is survived by his wife Helen; five children - Toni Whitworth, Mike Wilkinson, Kathy (Guy) Combs, Kal (Amy), and Jamie (Dave) Greene; 14 grandkids; 38 great-grandkids; one brother Don (Pat); a brother-in-law, Jerry Eddy, and son-in-law-Lyle Scholz. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., on Saturday, May 8, at Flahiff Funeral Chapel in Caldwell. Viewing will be held Friday from 4 to 8 p.m., May 7, at the Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.
