Daughter of Matthias and Maggie (Reisdorff) Puetz. Married John Homan on February 8, 1898 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Luxemburg, Savannah Township, Butler County, Nebr. MARY HOMAN Mary, daughter of Mathias and Margaret Puetz was born August 1, 1878 at David City, Nebraska, and passed away June 19, 1958 in the Boone County Hospital, Albion, Nebraska, at the age of 79 years, 10 months, and 19 days. On February 8, 1898 she was united in marriage to John Homan in the Luxenburg [sic] church, north of David City. To this union five children were born, two sons and three daughters. Mr. and Mrs. Homan lived for one year on a farm near David City, and in February 1899, they moved to a farm northwest of Cedar Rapids where their son Matt now lives. For the past ten years she has lived in Cedar Rapids. She was preceded in death by her husband, who passed away February 23, 1918, three sisters and one brother. She leaves to mourn her five children, John, Matt, Mrs. Theresa Goering, Mrs. Helen Wlaschin and Mrs. Mary Primrose; three brothers, John Puetz of Albion, Nicholas and William Puetz of David City, and one sister, Mrs. John Morbach of Bellwood, Nebr. Twenty-five grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren and many relatives and friends. Funeral services were held from St. Anthony's Church Saturday, June 21, 1958, at 9:30 a.m. The Requiem High Mass was sung by Father Buehler. Pallbearers were all grandsons, Leo, Paul, William and Richard Homan, Karl and John Wlaschin. Two other grandsons, Fredrick and James Goering helped serve the Mass. Over a hundred relatives from out of town attended the funeral services. Mrs. Homan was one of the original members of St. Anthony's parish, and was active in church work until her health failed. She never missed the opportunity to attend daily Mas and receive Holy Communion. Her life's interest were centered around the church, her family and the people of the community.
