Christopher C. Firth, 33, born Pike County, Illinois, son of Prince & Eliza (Gregory) Firth, and Alice Sundgren, 27, born Chicago, Illinois, daughter of Andrew & Karin (Larson) Sundgren, were married November 8, 1905. (Source: Hamilton County, NE Marriage Records) ======================= Aurora News-Register (Aurora, NE), Thursday, February 12, 1914; pg. 9 — The death of Mrs. C. C. Firth occurred at her home in this city at 5:30 Wednesday morning, after an illness of five days, she having been stricken with pneumonia on last Thursday evening. Mrs. Firth was 37 years of age and leaves the husband and a little five-year-old son. Mrs. Firth was the last of nine children born to Mr. and Mrs. A. Sundgren, of this city, her death being the last of a series of sorrows that have come to these good people and bereft them of all of a large family of children. The sympathy all will go out to the husband, the little boy and to the parents who on Sunday will follow the last of their own to the grave, The services will be held at the Swedish church on Sunday at 1 p. m., in charge of Rev. Isakson, pastor of the church, and Rev. Clutter, of the Church of Christ. =================== Aurora News-Register (Aurora, NE), Tuesday, February 17, 1914; pg. 8 MRS. ALICE FIRTH Alice Lettie Sungren (sic) was born July 15th, 1875, and departed this life February 11th, 1914, aged 39 years, seven months and twenty-six days. She was united in marriage to Mr. C. C. Firth November 8th, 1905. To this union was born one son, aged five years. She was confirmed in the Swedish Lutheran church (sic) of Chicago at sixteen years of age and was a true Christian all her life. She leaves to mourn her loss besides her husband and little son and aged father and mother many relatives and friends. The funeral was held at the Swedish church Sunday and burial was in the Aurora cemetery (sic). ================== Aurora News-Register (Aurora, NE), Thursday, February 19, 1914; pg. 4 FUNERAL OF MRS. FIRTH. The SUN of last week carried to its readers the news of the death of Mrs. Alice L. Firth, wife of C. C. Firth, and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. Sundgren, she being the last of nine children born to this couple. She had been ill with pneumonia but a few days, her death occurring early Wednesday morning, Feb. 11th. She leaves to mourn her departure the husband, the little son, and the parents, together with more distant relatives and many warm friends. Alice Lettie Sundgren was born in the city of Chicago on the 15th day of July, 1876, and was therefore at the time of her death 37 years, 7 months and 26 days of age. She was confirmed in the Swedish Lutheran church (sic) in Chicago at the age of sixteen and had ever been a faithful adherent to the teachings of the faith she had adopted. She came to Aurora with her parents in 1898 and her home had been here ever since. She was united in marriage to C. C. Firth, November 8, 1905. One child came to gladden this union, Lester D, who is now five years of age. The funeral services were conducted at the Swedish church on Sunday afternoon, Rev. Isakson, pastor of the church, speaking in Swedish, and Rev. Clutter, of the Christian church, talking in English. The church was crowded with the relatives and friends who attended in token of their esteem of the departed and their sympathy for those left to mourn. A quartette rendered the Impressive song service and floral tributes were abundant. Burial was made in the Aurora cemetery (sic).
