Funeral services for Josef Perina, 79, were held Saturday morning, April 12 at 10 o'clock at the New Zion Presbyterian Church, Clarkson. The Rev. Sidney J. Raymond officiated and interment was in the National Cemetery in Clarkson. Lad Krejsa represented the ZCBJ Lodge at the interment in the National Cemetery. Pallbearers were ZCBJ Lodge members, Emil Brdicko, James Stepan, Jerry Molacek, Gilbert Koza, Anton Srb, and Jaroslav Jaroska. Josef Perina, son of Jan and Zofie Nemecek Perina, was born in Brdo, Bohemian, Dec. 24, 1889. He came to the United States in 1911 and settled on a farm south of Clarkson. In 1915 he was married to Emma Kvetensky and they continued to make their home south of Clarkson until 1922, when they moved to a farm north of Creston. They resided there until 1960 when they retired from farming and moved to Madison. Mrs. Perina passed away on Oct. 31, 1967 and Mr. Perina continued to make his home in Madison until August, 1968 when he moved to the Senior Citizen's Home in Schuyler. He had been in failing health for some time and passed away at Schuyler on April 9, 1969 at the age of 79 years, 3 months, and 15 days. Mr. Perina was a member of the New Zion Presbyterian Church in Clarkson and the ZCBJ Lodge. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Mildred Bebout of Seaside, CA; a son Lambert of Shawnee Mission, Kansas and three grandchildren, Linda Bebout and Martin and Dean Perina.
