Deseret News, The (Salt Lake City, UT) - May 12, 1999. Deceased Name: Obituary: Delbert Walton Wood. Delbert Walton Wood passed away May 11, 1999, after a valiant bout with cancer. Born September 24, 1916, the son of James Corbidge Wood and Minetta Walton. Married Zola Craner in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, January 7, 1938. Served in the Navy during World War II in the South Pacific. A High Priest in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Served in various callings including as an ordinance worker at the Jordan River Temple from the time of its dedication through last year. Survived by wife Zola Marie, children Carma Crowther (Dave), Carollyn Beebe (David), Martin Wood, brothers Leo Wood (Doris), Keith Wood (Barbara); sister LaRue Leatham, 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. He loved taking his wife golfing, gardening and spending time with his family. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 14, 1999, 12 noon at the Brighton 1st Ward Chapel, 3001 E. Bengal Blvd. (7800 S.) Friends may call at the Cannon Mortuary, 2460 E. Bengal Blvd. (7600 S.) Thursday May 13, 1999, from 6-8 p.m. and the day of the service at the church from 10:45-11:45 a.m. Interment Mountain View Memorial Estates.
