Funeral services will be today at 3 p.m. at the Kavanaugh United Methodist Sanctuary under the direction of Peters Funeral Home. Rev. Ben Shinn and Murray Pickens will officiate. A private burial will be in East Mount Cemetery. Dr. Parker was born Feb. 7, 1911, in Cumby, to Dr. Frank M. Parker, Sr. and Forrest Speaks Parker. He married Nancy Huffaker on Dec. 25, 1939, in Houston. He was a retired dentist, graduating from Baylor Dental School, Wesley College and E.T.S.U. He received his dentist license on July 10, 1937. He served in the U.S. Naval Reserve in the Dental Corps. He was a member of the 4th District Dental Society and a member of Kavanaugh United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife; son and daughter-in-law, James Frank and Laura Parker of Sherman; daughter and son-in-law, Martha and Michael Patterson of Zionsville, Ind.; brother, James F. Parker of Carmel, Calif.; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son Forrest F. Parker in 1994 and two sisters, Leah P. Prutzman and Rachel P. White. Honorary pallbearers will be J.E. McDonald, Wilburn Hilton, Frank Wertz, Lee Clark, Murray Pickens, Joe Peters, Julius Nussbaum and Kenneth King. A memorial fund has been established at Kavanaugh United Methodist Church.
