Bio

Herald Coaster, October 31, 1967: Funeral services for John Kutej, 75, who was found dead at his home in the Fairchilds community Monday morning, are scheduled at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Garmany & Co. Chapel in Needville. Rev. Richard D. Avery, pastor of the Presbyterian Church at Needville, will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Needville Public Cemetery. Mr. Kutej, a retired farmer, was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Annie Kutej, in 1963, and a son, Wilbert Kutej, in 1946. Survivors include a son, Leonard Kutej of Plainview; a daughter, Mrs. Leona Garbs of West Columbia; two sisters, Mrs. Julie Jenkins of Gonzales and Mrs. Annie Murphy of Guy; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
