Rosenberg Herald, July 18, 1952: Marvin Fojtik, 19, of Guy, died in the Polly Ryon Hospital Saturday from severe burns he received in an automobile accident on Highway 36 early that morning. The accident occurred at about 1:00 a.m. Saturday when Fojtik and his companion, Henry Gratschek, also of Guy, ran into the Big Creek bridge on Highway 36 about 12 miles South of Rosenberg. After the impact, the automobile caught fire, and young Fojtik suffered first, second, and third degree burns. Highway Patrolman E. J. Stutts investigated the accident. Young Fojtik was born in Guy and lived all of his life in that community. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Fojtik Sr. He was a member of the Presbyterian church. Besides his parents, he is survived by two brothers, William Fojtik Jr. of Needville and Joe John of Guy. Funeral services were held in St. Paul's Presbyterian Church in Needville Monday at 3:00 p.m., with the Rev. J. R. Vilt officiating. Interment was in the Needville Public Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Leal Dobesh, Robert Vilt, Marvin Hurta, Allen Hurta, Leslie Hurta, Charles Teykl, and Marion Teykl. Garmany-Heartfield directed.
