Herald Coaster, October 3, 1994: Funeral services for Ruby Poncik Filla, 70, of Needville, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4, at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg, with interment following at Needville Public Cemetery in Needville. A rosary service will be Monday, Oct. 3, at 7 p.m. at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. Father Howard Drabek will officiate the services. Ruby Poncik Filla was born Aug. 21, 1924 in Richmond. She passed away Oct. 1 in Richmond. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Needville, KJZT, and SPJST. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Filla, and her parents, Joe and Victoria Poncik. Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Loraine and Glenn Scattergood of Geneva, Ill.; sons, Danny Filla of Needville, and Allen Filla and his wife, Janet, of Pasadena; sisters, Josephine Kovar of Pleak and Ella Mae Drabek of Richmond; brothers, Victor Poncik and William Poncik, both of Richmond; four grandchildren, Mark, Jeffrey, Stacey, and Glenn; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call after 5 p.m. Monday at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home, 3900 B.F. Terry, Rosenberg.
