Rosenberg Herald, April 8, 1949: Funeral services for Hamblin Baca were held Monday, April 4, at St. Pauls Presbyterian Church in Needville, with Rev. J. R. Vilt officiating. Deceased lost his life by an accident Friday night, April 1, and was found dead early Saturday morning, April 2, in his burned car, about one mile north of Pierce, Texas where he was visiting with his cousin. He reached the age of 30 years. He leaves to mourn his tragic departure, his wife, Mrs. Elvie Baca; three daughters, Geraldine, Shirley Fay, Janelle Sandra; two sons, Clovis Gene and Kenneth Roy; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Baca of Needville; one brother, Johnnie Baca of Needville; two sisters, Mrs. Ruel Ellis of Harlingen, Texas, Mrs. Bennie Gerken of Needville; and many other relatives and friends. He served his country during the second world war and the American Legion had charge of the services at the cemetery. Pallbearers were members of the American Legion. Burial took place in the Needville Public Cemetery. The Triska Funeral home had charge of the funeral arrangements.
