Fort Bend Herald, Wednesday, April 26, 2006: Funeral services for Edward L. "Eddie" Luedeke, age 80, of Needville,TX are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 27, 2006 at Immanuel United Church of Christ in Needville. The Rev. Fred Banda and the Rev. Lori Keaton will officiate the service, and burial will follow in Needville Public Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Wednesday, April 26, 2006 at the Garmany & Carden Funeral Chapel in Needville. Mr. Luedeke passed away Tuesday, April 25, 2005, at S.P.J.S.T. Rest Home in Needville. He was born March 16, 1926 in Richmond, TX to parents Adolf and Lilly Mueller Luedeke. He served his country for two years in the U.S. Navy during World War II. For forty plus years he was self employed at Eddie's Garage and also co-owner of 360 Short Stop convenience store in Needville. He was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ, and he was involved in organizations such as American Legion Post 350, the Needville Volunteer Fire Department, the Albert J. DeLange Masonic Lodge #1403 in Houston, and Woodmen of the World. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. His wife of 57 years, Winona Luedeke, survives him, along with one son, David Luedeke and wife, Kathy, of Needville; grandson, Shay Luedeke and wife, Laura, of Magnolia; great grandson, Jett Mason Luedeke of Magnolia; two sisters, Hilda Blahuta of Tavener, Lillian Prebilsky and husband, Joe, of Pearland; brother-in-law, Glenn Schroeder and wife, Barbara,of Needville; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Adolf and Lilly; brother, Adolf Luedeke; granddaughter, Audrey Luedeke; and a sister, Ella Scharnberg. Serving as pallbearers will be Don Scharnberg, Leslie Prebilsky, Glenn Schroeder, Jr., Lonnie Shelton, Glen Blahuta and Dwight Luedeke. Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Prebilsky, Wayne Preblisky, Edward Scharnberg, Ron Luedeke, Jesus Bengoechea, and members of the Needville Volunteer Fire Department, Richmond Fire Department, and American Legion Post 350.
