BERNT - Leo Joseph, age 70, died peacefully on Saturday, August 28, 2004 at his home in Midland Park, NJ. Leo was born in Stuart, NE on September 5, 1933. He was a resident of Maryland for 12 years before moving back to Midland Park this past July. Leo was a Plant manager for Hydrotherm, a manufacturer of Boilers and Heating Systems in Dundalk, MD. He retired in 1998 after 42 years of service. He was a parishioner of St. Francis DeSales R.C. Church in Abingdon, MD, and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #11372 where he was a 3rd Degree Knight. Surviving is his wife Marie (Ricciardi), his daughters, Michele Aleixo of Patchogue, NY, Lisa Bernt of Belmont, MA, and Maria Anzalone of Ridgewood, NJ, his sisters, Vera Vogel of Battle Creek, MI, and Leona Dowden of Baldwin, NY, and his ten grandchildren. Leo was predeceased by his daughter Jacqueline Scicluna in 1990 and his stepson Harold Metcalf in 2001. Arrangements by the Olthuis Funeral Home 159 Godwin Avenue Midland Park, NJ 07432.
