Bio
Erin was the daughter of Wymond Compton Gerrish and Bessie Roberts. She was married to James Wilburn Miles and they had a son, Wymond Guy Miles. She then married Alvin Anderson and they had a daughter Charlotte. Erin had a lifetime love of antiques and before her death had an antique shop in Fallon, Nevada Mason Valley News - Yerington, Nevada · Friday, August 16, 2002 Erin Ruby Anderson died August 4, 2002 of natural causes at Washoe Medical center at age 86. Erin was born Jan. 20, 1916 to Wymond and Bessie (nee Roberts) Gerrish in Austin, Texas. Erin graduated from Austin High School at the age of 16, she was in the last class that went 11. Erin was the great granddaughter of Oran M. Roberts, Governor of Texas 1878-1883. During WWII she was a seamstress at the Naval Ammunition Depot in Hawthorne. Erin lived in Denver, Co. for 20 years and Arlington, Texas where she retired from West Point Pepperell after 22 years as a sales representative. Erin moved to Fallon in 1981 where she owned and operated Memories Galore on Main Street for 15 years. Erin was always active in the community where she lived, PTA President for 3 years in Denver, after she was 65 she coached Bobby Sox for a year, a member of the Chamber of Commerce, Farmers Market-Cantaloupe Festival, her passion was sewing, gardening, Wall-Mart and life with a gift for gab. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband of 40 years, Alvin Anderson. Erin leaves her son, Wymond Miles of Colorado, daughters: Charlotte Anderson of Texas; Deanie Walsh of Fallon; 7 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren.
