Bio
Sarah Mae Rice, 86, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on March 26, 2012 at her home in Taylorsville, Utah. She was born January 2, 1926 in Salt Lake City to Earl Duffin and Elizabeth Irvine. She married LaMar Rice on October 27, 1943, and together they were happily married for fifty years. Sarah was a homemaker, and loved raising her children. Later in life she volunteered her time with Granite School District, and was proud of the time she spent working with children that had special needs. Her true joy was spending time with her family, and being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Sarah is survived by her son Rick, daughter Sara, four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and her two sisters. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, sister, two brothers, and a son-in-law. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 29, 2012 at Redwood Memorial Estates Mortuary, 6500 South Redwood Road (1700 West). A viewing will be held one hour prior to the services. Published in the Deseret News on March 28, 2012.
