Bio
Irvin T. Duffin, age 56, passed away Sunday, July 23, 1995 of ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) at his Sandy home, surrounded by his family. Born October 2, 1938 in Salt Lake City, Utah, son of Earl L. Duffin and Elizabeth Waime Irvine. Married Jeanne Beesley, his high school sweetheart, May 16, 1957. He was president of an international trade company based in San Francisco and Hong Kong. An excellent speaker, he lived the last year in great frustration over the loss of his speech due to ALS. He traveled throughout the world for business and pleasure, mostly in the Far East. He loved the outdoors, golfing, skiing, sailing and flyfishing. Irv loved his fellow man and would do anything for his friends. He was a warm and caring boss, was outgoing, dynamic, and fun to be around. He dedicated his life to providing for his family, who he loved more than anything else. Survived by his wife, one son, C. Troy, Park City; two daughters, Camille Mairs (Mike), Ballston Lake, New York; Heidi Smart (Tom), Park City; brother, Gardner Duffin (Linda), sisters, Barbara Pugsley, Janet Reed (Jim) and Sally Rice, and nine grandchildren. Preceded in death by father, mother and one sister. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 27, 1995 at 11 a.m. at Memorial Estates, 3115 E. 7800 South.
