Bio
Myrtle Joy Milstead, 86, passed into eternal rest Sunday, March 25, 2012. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, March 29, at Waco Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Joy was born in Satin, Texas, to the late Dink and Molly Johnson. She married George E. Milstead on June 26, 1944, in Marlin, Texas. Joy devoted herself to her family. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years, George; son, James E. Milstead, of Durant, Okla.; and all five siblings. Joy is survived by daughters, Linda Zimmerman and husband, John, of San Antonio, and Carolyn Kay Milstead, of Waco; grandchildren, Jennifer, Leslie, Misty, Mandy, and James; eight great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.
