Bio
John Tschudy, son of Mr. and Mrs. Josh Tschudy, was born January 7, 1882 at Pleasant Valley, Dodge County, Nebraska. At the age of 8 years he came with his parents to this locality and settled on the farm east of Palmer on which he has resided practically all his life. He united with the Evangelical Church in 1901. On May 26, 1915, he was united in marriage to Martha Eckert. To this union one son, Donald, was born. The departed was ill for several months, however, he was up and around most of the time. This summer he spent several weeks at the hospital in grand Island, later he was home again, until the week on July 23. He then entered the hospital at Palmer for treatment, however, it was deemed best that he be taken to the hospital at Hastings on Sunday, August 5, where he remained until he was released from this life at about one o'clock Wednesday, August 8th. He leaves a sorrowing widow, one son, Donald, one granddaughter, a daughter-in-law, one sister, Mrs. Kate Weller, many relatives, friends and neighbors. A brother, Henry, preceded him in death. Mr. Tschudy reached the age of 69 years, 7 months and 1 day. The Palmer Journal, August 16, 1951, page 1, transcribed by Linda Berney
