Jesse & Lula were married Nov. 1890. To this union eleven children were born: Bertha Virginia, Verdie, Huey Webster, William Terry, Nena Frances, Rennie Bell, Lesta Miranda, Joe Bailey, Cone Johnson, Wayland and Oneta. The first three were born in Tennessee.
