Grand Island Daily Independent Saturday 5 Oct 1968 p. 2 Gradoville Rites Set on Monday Mrs. Eva Gradoville, widow of Antone Gradoville and a resident of this community for nearly 60 years, died Friday evening in a Grand Island nursing home. She had been in failing health for many months. Funeral services will be observed at 1:30 Monday in the chapel of the Livingston-Sonderman Funeral Home. The Rev. James Chubb will officiate. Burial will be in Grand Island Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday evening until 9 at the funeral home. Mrs. Gradoville was born Nov. 14 1886, at Sheffield, Iowa, to Mr. and Mrs. Ira R. Jenkins. When she was a child, the family moved to Meadow Grove. Mr. and Mrs. Gradoville were married July 3, 1907, at Meadow Grove. Mr. Gradoville was employed in the maintenance-of-way department of the Union Pacific Railroad, so Mr. and Mrs. Gradoville lived in many communities the first three years of their wedded life. In 1910, the family came to Grand Island to establish a permanent home. Mr. Gradoville died Sept. 4, 1962. Mrs. Gradoville continued to maintain her home until ill health caused her to close it and go to the nursing home. She was a member of the United Methodist Church. Mrs. Gradoville is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Joe Copozio of San Francisco; three grandchildren; a brother, Ross Jenkins of Joplin, Mo.; seven sisters, Mrs. Ella Cook of Beaverton, Wash., Mrs. Ollie Groetzinger and Mrs. Hazel Judy, both of Grand Island, Mrs. Gladys Maddox of St. Francis, Kan., and Mrs. Joy Honeycutt, Betty and Nana Jenkins. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. The Rev. Dr. James Chubb officiated. Pallbearers were Donald White, Westley White, Alvin White, Ray Scott, Gary White and Harold Horner. Burial was in the Grand Island Cemetery.
