Sam Lee Hall, 88, of the Paint Rock community, passed away October 28, 2006, at his home surrounded by his family. Born in Sunbright, April 26, 1918, he was preceded in death by his parents, John B. and Eliza Dyer Hall; two sons, Thomas Lee and Hubert Benny Hall; one daughter, Jan Burress; two grandsons, Derek and Troy Thomas Buttram; one great-granddaughter, Jacie Burress; one brother, and five sisters. He was a member of Paint Rock Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for 45 years, and was a member of the Plateau Electric Board for 24 years. He was an avid fox hunter, and loved to go to church, garden, ride his four-wheeler, and attend sporting events of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Marine Duncan Hall of the Paint Rock community; two sons: Bill Hall and wife, Sue, of Oneida, and Rick Hall and wife, Denita, of Johnson City; four daughters: Sheila Buttram and husband, Denzil, and Teresa Sexton and husband, Tony, all of the Paint Rock community, Sharon Marcum and husband, James, of the Pine Creek community, and Paula Campbell and husband, John, of Helenwood; 17 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and many other relatives. Funeral service was to have been conducted Wed, November 1, at 11 a in., at Paint Rock Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Dean Barnes and Rev. Gary Cook officiating. Music was to be provided by Paint Rock Baptist Church Choir, Denzil Buttram, Randy Bates, and Demta Hall. Interment was to have followed in Sexton Memorial Cemetery in the Paint Rock community.
