Bio

Herald Coaster, September 18, 1990: Funeral services for Vaclav J. Tajchman, 88, of Rosenberg, will be held Wednesday, Sept. 19, at 2 p.m. at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Rosenberg. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, at the Davis Funeral Chapel in Rosenberg. Father Michael Burke, O.P., will officiate the service and burial will be at the Guardian Angel Cemetery in Wallis. Mr. Tajchman was born Sept. 16, 1902 in Marion County, Kansas. He died Sept. 17 in Rosenberg. He was a retired farmer and a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and the K.J.T. of Wallis. He was preceded in death by his wife, Henrietta Polasek Tajchman, in 1944; his two sons, William Tajchman and Adolph Tajchman; and two daughters, Carmel Tajchman and Georgianna Moore. Survivors include his son, W.J. "James" and his wife, Sherry, of Pasadena; daughters, Mary Jo and her husband, Alex Maresh of Richmond, Florence and her husband, Leon Hlozek of East Bernard, Lillian and her husband, Adolph Kujawa of Rosenberg, and Helen and her husband, Anton Kelner of Rosenberg; sisters, Elsie and her husband, Jo Erker of Mount Hope, Kansas, and Adolphine Tajchman of Wichita, Kansas. Pallbearers will be Mr. Tajchman's grandsons, Leon Hlozek Jr., Adolph Tajchman Jr., Kevin Tajchman, Scott Tajchman, A.C. Kujawa, and Anthony Kelner. Honorary pallbearers will be Alex Maresh Jr., Daniel Maresh, and William Hlozek. Friends may call at the Davis Funeral Chapel in Rosenberg after 4 p.m. Tuesday. Davis Funeral Home of Rosenberg is handling the arrangements.
