Frank John Mikes was born to parents John R. and Frances (Polasek) Mikes in Wallis, TX on March 13, 1941. He was raised in Wallis and graduated from Wallis High School, class of 1959. On June 5, 1960, Mr. Frank Mikes was joined in marriage to the former Miss Gloria Morris with a ceremony held in Wallis. Frank owned The City Meat Market in Wallis for 10 years. Frank was a member of Guardian Angel Catholic Church where he was involved in the Knights of Columbus, K.J.T. and K.J.Z.T. He also was a member of the Wallis Volunteer Fire Department. Frank Mikes, Sr. is survived by his wife, Gloria Mikes of Wallis; daughters, Liz Sliva and husband, Jr., of Wallis, and Linda Toman and husband, Garry, of Wallis; sons, Frank Mikes, Jr. and wife, Dana, of East Bernard, and Thomas Mikes and fiancee, Tammie Kunetka, of Hillje; grandchildren, Amanda Toman, Chris Toman, Florian James Sliva III and wife, Venessa, Felicia Oliver and husband, Patrick, Rebecca Toman, Tyler Mikes, Kyle Mikes and Leslie Mikes; great-grandchildren, Trey Gaston, Logan Sliva, Cody Toman and Kolby Hatton; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Frances Mikes, and brother, Eugene Mikes. Serving as pallbearers for the service are Florian James Sliva III, Chris Toman, Tyler Mikes, Patrick Oliver, Jimmy Mikes, and Thomas Dibala. Honorary pallbearers are Trey Gaston, Logan Sliva, Cody Toman, and Kolby Hatton.
