For Bend Herald, January 25, 2006: Funeral services for Willie P. Raska, 82, of Wallis will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, 2006, at Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Wallis, with the Rev. Richard Johnston, S.C.J. celebrating the funeral Mass and rite of committal. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2006, at Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Wallis. Interment will be at Guardian Angel Catholic Cemetery. Born in Wallis, Willie was the son of Anton and Mary (Hajovsky) Raska. He was reared in Wallis. Willie attended Guardian Angel Catholic School and Wallis High School, and was an agriculture farmer and a tax collector. Mr. Raska also served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. Willie P. Raska married the former Miss Irene Chudej on June 27, 1958 in a ceremony held in Rosenberg. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the American Legion and KJT, all in Wallis. Willie P. Raska died Monday, Jan. 23, 2006 in Wharton. He was preceded in death by his parents, Anton and Mary Raska, and sister, Louise Ruchlewicz. He is survived by his wife, Irene Raska of Wallis; sons and daughters-in-law, James and Joan Raska of Richmond, Ronnie and Carolyn Raska of Wallis, and Tim and Janice Raska of Wallis; brother-in-law, Frank Ruchlewicz; grandchildren, Shannon Crawford and husband, Robert, Rhonda Wied and husband, Ray, Shane Raska and wife, Patti, and Tyler and Jordan Raska; and great-grandchildren, Brandon Wied, Eric Wied, Colin and Ryan Crawford, and Caitlin Crawford.
