Edward Charles Vinklarek, age 71, of Cistern, Texas, died Monday, November 18, 1996. Mr. Vinklarek was born in Cistern on February 10, 1925. He was the founder and owner of V.V. Sausage Plant for 42 years. He was a member of Saints Cyril and Methodius Church in Cistern. Mr. Vinklarek was active in children-oriented activities, and was a promoter and member of the Athletic Boosters Clubs of Flatonia and Smithville. Survivors include his wife, Joyce Marie Brunner Vinklarek, whom he married 45 years ago on October 8, 1951, in Cistern; daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and Johnnie Wulf of Cistern, Cathy and Mike Steinhauser of Flatonia, Suzanne and Craig Williams of Smithville, and Pam and Rory Marrs of Smithville; sons and daughters-in-law, Bobby and Vicki Vinklarek, Donnie and Brenda Vinklarek, Ronnie and Belinda Vinklarek, all of Cistern, and Mark and Sharon Vinklarek of La Grange; 17 grandchildren; seven sisters, and two brothers. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Zofie Mares Vinklarek and Adolph and Katherine Brunner; one brother and one sister. Rosary will be recited 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 20, 1996, at Smith Chapel in Flatonia, Texas, with Monsignor Stanley J. Petru officiating. Funeral services are 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 21, 1996, at Saints Cyril and Methodius Church in Cistern. Burial, Catholic Cemetery in Cistern. Pallbearers will be Simon Vinklarek, Gregory Vinklarek, Carl Vinklarek, Bruce Vinlarek, Patrick Vinklarek, Bruce Brunner. His 17 grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.
