SHINER – Peter Chilek, 79, of Shiner died Thursday, July 25, 1996. He was born July 19, 1917, in Gonzales County to the late Peter and Frances Ermis Chilek. He was a farmer and a member of Sts. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church and KJT Society. Survivor: sister, Julie Svoboda of Shiner. Preceded in death by: sisters, Emilie Chilek, Frances Malnoskey and Mary Vzoral and brother, Jim Chilek. Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at St. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church, the Rev. Gerry Cernoch officiating. Burial will be held at St. Ann’s Catholic Cemetery in Yoakum.
