Home For Funerals - July 19, 2010 Adela E. Klein (October 14, 1924 - July 18, 2010) Services for Adela E. Klein 85, of Battle Creek will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 21, 2010, at St. John Lutheran Church with Reverend Richard Snow, officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 3 - 8 p.m. at Steffen Mortuary, Battle Creek. Burial will be in the St. John Lutheran Cemetery. She died Sunday, July 18, 2010 at Community Pride Center. Adela was born Oct 14, 1924 in Ulysses, NE to Henry & Alice (Hintz) Klingemann. She married Ernest F Klein on October 14, 1951 in Rising City. Adela was a school teacher at Butler County School, St. John's in Columbus, and then St. John's in Battle Creek. She was also a homemaker and had an avid interest in genealogy. She compiled the Konrad Werner family history after many years of research. She was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Rising City and graduated from David City High School. Adela loved to study the bible and enjoyed many years of learning from bible studies and attending different church functions. She was active in home bible studies, many church functions and loved to help the children. She was a mentor grandparent for several children at the parochial school and would help with the VBS projects. She also enjoyed her flower gardens and vegetable gardens. She was an accomplished cook, sewer, wife, mother and farm helper. She was active in-4-H and helped her children learn to love the farm life. Adela is survived by her 4 children; Cindy & Martin Oelklaus of Independence, MO; William J & Kathy Klein of Battle Creek, NE; Judy & Todd Munderloh of Norfolk , NE; and JoAnn & Stephen Dollins of Topeka, KS; She is also survived by her grandchildren; Marcy Oelklaus & Kyle Oelklaus of Independence, MO; Travis Klein, Nathan Klein & Tyler Klein of Schuyler, NE; Nicole (Riley) & Brian Blile of Savannah, GA, Adam Riley of Topeka, KS, Eryn Dollins of Omaha and Cassandra Vencill of Battle Creek. She is survived by her sisters, Leona Doll of Omaha; Edna Schroeder of Seward, and Harriet & Melvin Bockelman of Concordia, MO and her sister-in-law's Doris Klingemann of Gretna, and Betsy Klein of Omaha, and Frances Klingemann of Omaha. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Klein; her brothers Eldon Klingemann, William Klingemann & Ruben Klingemann; her sisters, Amanda Klingemann, Vera Klingemann & Arlene Johnson Memorial may be directed to St. John Lutheran School in Battle Creek.
