World War II US Army FLT O The Oklahoman, Sunday, January 22, 1995: John E. Durrett Sr, 82, of OKC, passed away Thursday, January 19, 1995 . He was born September 21, 1912 in Weatherford, TX, to Leslie and Elizabeth Durrett. He was raised in Ardmore by his aunt, Geneva D. Mullin. John served as a Glider Pilot in World War II and was a member of Linwood United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Edna, of the home; son, John E. Durrett Jr of Ada, OK; daughter, Donna Beattie of Mission Viejo, CA; four grandchildren, Emily Neeld of Norman, Jessica Durrett of Ada, Ryan and Maxwell Beattie of Mission Viejo, CA; and a brother, Hugh Durrett. Services will be Monday, January 23 at Linwood UMC with interment at Rose Hill Cemetery.
