Mrs. Marcum was born October 3, 1916, in Floydada, Texas, to Leslie and Harriet Elizabeth Coalson Durrett. She married Andrew Marcum on July 12, 1947, in Corvallis, Oregon. She is survived by her husband, Andrew "Andy" of the home; two daughters, Linda Baker of Topeka, Kansas, and Mary Evans of Ada; a son, Paul B. Marcum of Tulsa; two brothers, John E. Durrett of Oklahoma City and Hugh C. Durrett of Tahlequah; and three grandchildren. She attended Murray State College in Ardmore until the outbreak of Wold War II, when she went to Wichita where she worked at Boeing on the B-29 Superfortress. In 1953, she moved to Muskogee where she worked for the Muskogee Welfare Association in their office and in their day-care facility. While there she taught the Wedding Ring Sunday School class at St. Paul United Methodist Church until she moved to Sallisaw in 1970. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Sallisaw.
