Jones County Resident Since 1906 Succumbs Funeral services for John Morgan Kelso, 76, of Warren Community were held at 2:30 P.M. Monday afternoon at Stith Baptist Church. He died at 6:30 A.M Friday at his home. He had been in ill health for eight weeks. The service was officiated by Rev. W.L. Daniels, of Stamford, pastor of the Baptist Church at Stith, and assisted by Rev. Walter Fielder of Anson. Burial took place in Prairie View Cemetery beside the grave of his wife who died March 10, 1935. John Morgan Kelso was born June 30, 1862, near Lawrenceburg, Tennessee and was married to Mary Vandiver on August 23, 1885. Nine children were born to this marriage, seven of whom survive; six sons, Lee of Anson, Bob of San Diego, CA, Earl of Lansing, MI, Walter and Horace of Merkel and Lloyd Kelso of Anson; and one daughter, Mrs. Flossie Worsham of Floydada. Also surviving are twenty-one grandchildren; a brother, W.J. Kelso of Lawrenceburg; and a sister, Mrs. W.E. Bryant of Midland.
