Bio

Lillie Louise (Miller) Gray Krueger Valis, daughter of Adolph and Hattie (Placke) Miller, married Henry Scott Gray on March 16, 1940. They had five children - Ernest Mitchell Gray, Elizabeth Louise Gray, Emil Scott Gray, Edwin Zane Gray, and Eugene Lester Gray. Henry passed away on May 3, 1960. On August 7, 1970, she married Walter Krueger who passed away on April 20, 1989. She married John Valis on August 23, 1997. Lillie enjoyed playing dominoes, bingo, dancing, casino trips, gardening, and traveling. She was a member of SPJST Lodge 29, Taylor, where for several years, she was hall manager. Lillie is survived by husband John Valis of Taylor, four of her children Ernest (Janet) Gray, Elizabeth Louise, Zane (Frances) Gray of Smithville, and Gene (Glenda) Gray of Yoakum; daughter-in-law Henrietta Gray of Smithville; and sister-in-law Dorothy Jo Miller of Elgin; granddaughters Sheila Deyo, Teresa (David) Shed of Smithville, Rose (Kevin) Miller of Round Rock, Michele (Brent) Mathis of Bastrop, Christie (William) Murphy of Red Rock, Malena (Jason) Milbern of Amarillo, and step-granddaughter Shawn White of Dripping Springs; great-grandchildren Selina, Trini, and Trevor Deyo, Austin and Alexa Shed, Hailey Miller, Garrett and Tyler Mathis, and Colton and Evan Murphy; step-grandchildren Hannah and Haley White; and numeerous nieces and nephews. Lillie was preceded in death by parents Adolph and Hattie Miller; husbands Henry Gray,and Walter Krueger; son Emil Scott Gray; three brothers; two sisters; and two sisters-in-law.
