John (Johnnie) Frank Odlozil, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away on April 30, 2008 after a brief illness, at the age of 82. Johnnie was born in Ennis, Texas on June 6, 1925, the son of Josef Odlozil and Frances Vavra Odlozil, where he spent his life, reared his family and retired from Safeway after 36 years. Before working at Safeway he worked as a butcher for Vavra Market as well as Liska Market. As a member of America's greatest generation, he enlisted and served in the Navy where he was stationed in the South Pacific Theatre from 1943-1945. He was a member of the Kights of Columbus for 55 years. He was also a member of St. John Booster Club & St. John's Catholic Church where he served as an usher. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Jody and Wesley. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Theresa Whitfill Odlozil; son, Ron Odlozil, and wife, Becky, of Dallas, and their children, Kellye and Coleman; son, Richard Odlozil, and wife, Laurie, of The Woodlands and their children, Taylor and Jordan; one daughter, Terry, and her husband, Philip Becker, of Arlington and their children, Courtney, and her husband Michael DeMakas; Justin and wife, Susan, and their daughter, Samantha; Ashley, Brigette, and Clayton Becker. He is also survived by his brother, Henry Odlozil. His loves were his family and farm. Johnnie touched many lives and will be greatly missed. The Rosary will be recited at Keever Chapel at 7PM on Thursday, May 1st, followed by the Mass of the Christian Burial at St. John's Catholic Church on Friday, May 2nd at 10AM.
