OBITUARY August Bechthold was born Sept. 2, 1868, at Fort Wayne, Indiana, and died April 5, 1917, at Loup City, Neb., aged 48 years, 7 months, 3 days. When ten years of age he moved with his parents to Loup City, Neb. On September 25, 1896, he was united in marriage to Anna E. Rowe (in Loup City). To this union were born two daughters and one son, Wanieta, aged 13 years and twins, Emma and Emmet, aged 5 years. Fifteen years ago they moved to Blaine county, where they resided until a year ago when they moved near Loup City, where they have since made their home. His illness began a year ago and for the past seven months he has been a constant sufferer. He has been a kind, loving husband, father and son. He leaves to mourn his loss a wife, three children, mother, three brothers and three sisters. He also leaves a host of friends who sympathize with the bereaved ones in their irreparable loss. He was converted about two month ago, accepting Christ as his Savior, but was unable to unite with any church. The funeral services were held in the Baptist church, Saturday afternoon, at 2 o'clock, Rev. J. L. Dunn preaching a forceful sermon from the text, James 4:14, "For What is Your Life, it is even a Vapor that Appeareth for a Little Time and then Vanisheth Away." A large audience was present to pay their last respects to the deceased. Burial was made in the Evergreen cemetery. The Times-Independent - Apr 12 1917
