TISHOMINGO - Arvid Alford Smith, 84, died Wednesday, February 22, 2012, at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. He was Born November 9, 1927, to Elbert "Bert" and Virgie Ann Osborn Smith. He was a Member of New Lebanon Free Will Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. He enjoyed life and his family. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at New Lebanon Free Will Baptist Church with Bro. Jack Whitley and Bro. Jack McQuary officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be in New Lebanon Cemetery. McMillan Funeral Home of Booneville is in charge of the arrangements. He is survived by his Wife, Dartha Lambert Smith; two Daughters, Debra Short and Husband, Danny, of New Site; and Denice Parsons and Husband, John, of Tishomingo; one Sister, Billie Hoffman of Booneville; six Grandchildren, Kevin Short and Wife, Melissa; Dr. Dee Dee Coker and Husband, Jamie; MemoryStanford and Husband, Matt; Chase Parsons; Blake Parsons and Wife, Leann; and Channing Parsons and Friend, Haley Whitley; and six Great-Grandchildren, Austin Short, Alexis Short, Trace Duvall, Allie Grace Stanford, Jax Coker and Anna-Miller Coker. He was preceded in death by two Sons, Danny and Dennis Smith; his Parents; seven Sisters; one Brother; and one Granddaughter, Ginger Renee Short. Pallbearers are his grandsons.
