Bio
Childress – Curtis A. Meece, age 57, died at 2;30 p.m. Wednesday, June 12, 1963 in a Fort Worth hospital. He had been in ill health for some time. He was reared in the Kirkland community. He is survived by his wife, Ocle, of Borger; two sons, Dale and Jim Meece, both of Odessa; eight sisters, Mrs. Joe Hardin of Childress, Mrs. Tom Burns of Shamrock, Mrs. D. W. Vaughn of Unice, New Mexico, Mrs. Leo Howard of Odessa, Mrs. Don Laughlin of Groves Texas, Mrs. Don Westall of Pala Alto, California, Mrs. Robert Hall of Valy City, California and Mrs. R. W. Stephens of Bakersfield, California; two brothers, Otis E. Meece of Edgewater, Florida and Lawrence Meece of Port Arthur, Texas; and his step-mother, Mrs. Joe Meece of Fort Worth. Funeral services were held at 11;30 a.m. Friday from the Owens Brumley Chapel in Fort Worth and burial was in the Hillrose (sic) cemetery in Fort Worth.
