THE SALT LAKE TRIBUNE TUESDAY OCT. 11, 1966 page 26 Death Takes Ex-Utahn, Hugh Tuttle LOS ANGELES - Hugh M. Tuttle, 63, Seattle Wash., former Salt Lake insurance executive, died here Monday after a heart attack. Mr. Tuttle was visiting here when he was stricken. Mr. Tuttle retired several months ago as president of the American Pacific Group, a holding company with offices in Honolulu. He had formed the company seven years ago in Honolulu. the firm has interests in New Zealand, South Africa, Australia, California and Hong Kong. Member of Board Shortly after the founding of Surety Life Insurance Co. in Salt Lake City, he joined the company as vice president and sales director. He remained with Surety Life for about 15 years. At the time of his death, Mr. Tuttle was on the board of directors of a Washington state land investment company. Mr. Tuttle was born March 9, 1908 in Orangeville, Emery County, a son of Mark A. and Alta Conover Tuttle. He married Laurel Poulson in Salt Lake City. They were later divorced. He married Ruth Fisher and was later divorced. About 12 years ago he married Dolores Garcia. Moved to Hawaii Mr. Tuttle entered the insurance business about 1930 in Salt Lake City and lived there until moving to Hawaii. Survivors include his widow, Seattle, three sons and a daughter, Hugh Jr., New York City; Tim and Ted, Salt Lake City, and Mrs. Jeanne Stevens, Denver; several grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother, Howard M. Tuttle, Salt Lake City, and a sister, Mrs. Irene Bunnell, Fullerton, Calif. Funeral services will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Los Angeles, with burial at Forest Lawn.
