John Leonard Fitch was born January 20, 1858, on a farm near Mount Pleasant, Iowa. He was married to Myra Doolittle of Carson, Iowa on November 10, 1896. To this union were born eight children, one died in infancy, and the others survive. is wife He moved to Pacific Junction in 1910 where he resided until two years ago when he moved to Omaha to live with a daughter. He died at Creston at the home of his daughter, Velma Keys, on October 2, 1932, at 9 p.m. He suffered a stroke a week ago which resulted in his death. He is survived by his wife, Myra, and his children, Lester of Storm Lake, Velma of Creston, Glen of Pacific Junction, Harley, Clyde, Irene, and Sylvia of Omaha. Also by seven grandchildren and one brother, Harrison Fitch of Pacific Junction. Funeral services were held in the Pacific Junction Methodist Church on Tuesday afternoon with Rev. C. W. Cooper, now of Council Bluffs, in charge, assisted by the local pastor, Rev. T. J. Pettit. Vocal selections were redered by Miss Margaret Alpers with Mrs. Don Hainey at the piano. The pallbearers were C. F. Hines, J. E. Anderson, Fred Edwrds, Pete Colgan, John Olson, and Henry Johnson. The body was laid to rest in the Glenwood Cemetery.
