Houston Chronicle, February 11, 2004: Rosalia Elizabeth "Rosie" Gerla, age 91, of Houston, passed away on Monday, February 9, 2004. She was born October 5, 1912 in Ammannsville, TX. Rosie loved her family, her flowers, the outdoors, and cooking. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Gerla, and daughter, Mary Gerla. Rosie is survived by her daughter, Jeanette Bowie and her husband, Richard; her sons, Eugene H. Gerla and his wife, Jo, and Daniel A. Gerla and his wife, Toni; grandchildren, Jeff Bowie, Beth Rustici and her husband, Mike, Jennifer Anderson and her husband, Scott, David Gerla, Teresa Whitworth and her husband, Chris, Anne Marie DeLisle and her husband, Steve, and Joseph Ramey. Visitation: Wednesday, February 11, 2004, 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with a vigil service beginning at 7:30 PM, Earthman Southwest Chapel, 12555 South Kirkwood, Stafford. Mass of Christian Burial: Thursday, February 12, 2004, 10:00 AM, Holy Family Catholic Church, 1510 Fifth Street, Missouri City. Rite of Committal: Greenlawn Memorial Park, Rosenberg, TX.
