Houston Chronicle, October 13, 2005: Daniel A. Gerla, 66, born on January 12, 1939, entered into rest on October 10, 2005 after a lengthy battle with leukemia. He is survived by his wife, Toni Gerla; daughters, Teresa Whitworth & husband, Chris, Anne M. DeLisle & husband, Steve; son, Joseph; grandchildren, Christopher, Tony, Stephen, and Vanessa; brother, Eugene Gerla & wife, Jo; sister, Jeanette Bowie & husband, Skip. A special acknowledgement to the caring staff of M.D. Anderson. Visitation will be held from 5-9 P.M., with rosary being recited at 7:30 P.M., on Thursday, October 13, 2005, at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home. A mass of the resurrection will be held at 9:30 A.M. on Friday, October 14, 2005, at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, 527 S. Houston Ave., Humble, Texas 77338. Interment will be on Monday, October 17, 2005, at Resurrection Cemetery in Mendota Heights, Minnesota. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, 1515 Holcombe Blvd. 541, Houston, Texas 77030.
