Bio

William M. Turnage, 77, of Texarkana, TX passed away on February 2, 2012. He worked as a jet engine mechanic and retired from the United States Air Force after 20 years of service. Bill had a tremendous sense of humor. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to a family member, friend or neighbor. He often put others ahead of himself. Bill was very social and never met a stranger. He was proud of his affiliations and membership with the Masonic Lodge in his home town. He is survived by 6 children, Brenda Turnage, Beverly King, Bonnie Bailey, Betsy Wood, Lynnette Smith, Paul Turnage; 14 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 13, 2012, 1:00 pm, at Jeter & Son Funeral Home 4830 W. Illinois Ave. Dallas, TX. Military honors to follow at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery. A memorial celebration to commemorate his life will be held in his home town of Texarkana at a later date.
