Bio

Henry Ford Sanders was born on 24 September 1859 in Upshur County, Texas. He was the son of Jesse Alex and Ellen Caroline Wolfe Sanders. His siblings were Georgia Ann and Joseph M. Sanders. His father died soon after the end of the Civil War from the effects of his service for the Confederacy. Henry's widowed mother remarried to a widower named John David Karney. He was also a Confederate veteran. The family moved to Hopkins County, Texas. Henry Ford Sanders married Margaret Gage on 9 December 1884 in Upshur County, Texas. The couple had six known children named Andie Everett, Marion Virgil, Dora Olivia, Dennis Levi, Elsie Lewis, and an infant son Sanders. Henry lost his wife in January of 1895. He remarried to a widow named Cordelia Ann McCormick Reed on 7 Aug 1895. The couple had three more children named Otto Otho, Audrey Alma, and Myrtus Ann Sanders. Henry Ford Sanders died on 21 November 1908 in Hopkins County, Texas. He would have been forty-nine years of age. He was buried beside his first wife in the Nelta Cemetery.
