Myrtus Williams Funeral services for Mrs. Myrtus Sanders Williams, 89, of Sulphur Springs, were held Thursday, Jan. 25, in the Tapp Funeral Chapel with Steve Smith officiating. Burial was in the Connor Cemetery, Dike, with grandsons and nephews serving as pallbearers. Mrs. Williams died Monday, Jan. 22, at Woodhaven Nursing Home. She was born Jan. 30, 1900, in Hopkins County to Henry Ford and Cordelia McCormick Sanders. She married George Williams on April 18, 1920, in Hopkins County. He preceded her in death in 1975. Mrs. Williams had resided in Sulphur Springs since her retirement from teaching in 1964. She was a member of League Street Church of Christ. Survivors include one son, Donald E. Williams of St. Louis, Mo.; one sister, Audrey Minter of Cisco; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
